The word “Church” has its roots in words referring to “the Lord’s House.” The word “Religion” has its roots in words meaning “to bind,” in the sense of an obligation borne of reverence. If we are to embrace the teachings of Jesus and Martin Luther, then we must also embrace everyone far beyond this building. As a congregation, and as individuals, we hold dear the efforts of several organizations whose goal is to grow justice and peace locally, and in the world at large.
