River Baptism, August 25th

On Sunday August 25th at Noon, Pastor Devon Thomas, of Waterville Union Church and Second Congregational Church in Jeffersonville, will be hosting a Riverside Baptismal Service in the Lamoille River, in Jeffersonville.

If the name sounds familiar, you are correct. Devon Thomas is Pastor Arnold’s son. Pastor Arnold will be attending. All are invited to participate, and anyone who wishes to be baptized may do so. There is no need to be a member of the church or to pay for the service. All people are loved by God and deserve to be a part of God’s club!

For this reason, we invite anyone who wishes to be baptized, or to witness this beautiful experience, to join us at the Dorothy Smith Fishing Access at 12:00 on Sunday August 25th.

For those attending, we suggest bringing a lounge chair, a swimsuit (or clothing you do not mind getting wet) and towels to dry yourself. You may also bring a lunch, stay a while and enjoy good company on the river shore.

For those who wish to be baptized, but do not wish to be dunked in the river, we will be doing baptisms by sprinkling as well.

Just as God welcomes all people into a life of peace and love we at the Waterville Union Church and Second Congregational Jeffersonville welcome all brothers and sisters in the community to join us in a celebration of peace and love on the 25th.

Notice to children and children at heart: Pastor Devon may be carrying a water soaker!
