A Few Event Highlights ~

There is more to a church than the structure that houses our weekly worship. At different times during the year, we may invite special speakers or attend presentations. On Wednesday, Feb 19, 6:00 to 8:00 pm, The SCHOOL OF LAY MINISTRY Discussion Group will be exploring Luther’s distinctive ideas on Church and Ministry. Everyone is welcome to our discussion, even if not enrolled in this program. READINGS & DISCUSSION GUIDE.

The PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY will meet here at Good Shepherd, Thursday, Feb 20, 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Knitters and/or crocheters, either working together or individually, create a simple shawl which is then given away to comfort a sick or struggling person, as a reflection of God’s comfort and care. IMMIGRATION IN VERMONT – Come to hear Erin Jacobsen of Southern VT Law School and the lead staff attorney at VT Immigration and Asylum Advocates in Burlington, for an update on what is happening with immigration in Vermont. Sunday, February 23rd, 2:00-4:00 PM at Deborah Rawson Memorial Library, Jericho. This presentation is co-sponsored by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the United Church of Underhill, and the Mount Mansfield UU Fellowship. DETAILS & DIRECTIONS.

ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE, February 26, 7:00 PM – Good Shepherd will participate in an ecumenical Ash Wednesday service to be held at the Covenant Community Church. The service includes the Sacrament of Communion along with the imposition of ashes, as we join with our Christian family from area churches and begin our Lenten journey. The Covenant Community Church is just off Rt. 15, at 1 Whitcomb Meadows Lane in Essex Junction (across Rt. 15 not far from the John Leo store).

Our next FELLOWSHIP BREAKFAST will be on Friday, February 28 at 8:30 at Jericho Café. As you know, we’d like to be able to notify them of the size of our party. Please kindly email Paul at to let him know you plan on joining us. Good food, good times, great company. We are blessed. See you soon!

MIDWEEK LENTEN SUPPERS, BIBLE STUDY & WORSHIP begin Thursday, March 5 and continue thru April 2nd. Join us from 5:15 to 7:00 PM. Each session will include a simple supper, brief worship service, study and sharing. Our theme this year: BUILDING THE BELOVED COMMUNITY. What is the Beloved Community? How might you envision the it as a physical and spiritual reality, and what can Good Shepherd do in helping to reach this reality? DETAILS, SCHEDULE, STUDY GUIDE & RESOURCES.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO SIGN IN THE LENT/EASTER CHOIR? Rehearsal will follow most Lenten Services & Bible Study, Thursdays, March 5th through April 2nd. Service & Bible Study 5:15 to 7:00. Choir rehearsal at 7:00 pm.
